The Ultimate Guide to Make Instrumentals Online

Author: Hans Alexander

The main reason people quit making beats for rap music is cost. Do you know that a real rap beat maker cost about ten thousand dollars? However, thanks to the invention of online beat making software that cost only a fraction of that. Now, almost everyone, anyone that has the desire to make his or her own beats can do it right in front of the computer.

All you will probably need to invest is about and has the power to create unlimited beats online. There are two types of instrumentals online; web based and PC based. Web based beat maker allows you to access the beat maker with any web browser and start making and saving your beats. PC based instrumentals on the other hand requires you to install the software into your PC.

Whatever your choice is, online beat maker allows you to have everything in one friendly interface. You don't need to buy separately the synthesizers, mixers, controls, tempo adjuster etc. as all of these are built in your beats maker.

Now whether or not you are going to create great beats with the online beat maker depends on the right beat making software you chose. So, how to choose the best beat maker online? Having tried tons of these software myself, let me shade some lights on how to choose the best beat maker to make instrumentals online.

Now, first check if the sound bank that the software comes with, contains all of these: drumbeats, snare drums, percussion, bass guitars, electricbass, piano, organ, timpani, orchestra, tabla, combos etc. Well, the more variety of these the software has, the more unique beats you can make. This is important because certain software only comes with about 3 to 4 of these, thus limit your beats mixture and uniqueness severely.

Okay, then check to see if the software control features was complete. You must have access to playback, pause, stop, rewind, fast forward or backward and most importantly the ability to save the beats that you have made. Take extra note on the file format that you will be allowed to save the beats. File format like MP3 allows you the flexibility to share your beats as MP3 can be played on almost all media players and you can easily burn your beats into a CD. This is important because I have come across online beat makers that can only save beats into format that must be played using the beat maker software alone and no other program.

You must also ensure that the editing feature like mixer, sound control etc. is included in the software. Basically, the more editing control you have, the more tweaking and twisting that you can make on your beats.

One of best online beat maker to make instrumentals online that comes with all of the above important features that I have come across is Sonic Producer. It was amazingly simple to use and the sound quality is comparable to that of studio made. Click Here to listen to sample beats and decide for yourself. It has become an indispensable tool to my beat making career.

Online Rap Beat Makers: What to look for

Author: John Paul Jones

A lot of people have been asking me what to look for in an online rap beat maker. An online rap beat maker is a beat maker program that lets you design and record rap beats using an online music synthesizer. There have been a number of these programs on the internet, and I will tell you what makes a quality digital music production experience.

First, you need to think about what kind of music you want to be making. If you want to make trance for example, you might be better off going the offline route via something like FL studio. If you want to make rap beats online, I would suggest something more along the lines of Sonic Producer. Fruity Loops has many LFOs and techno-sounding synths (only if you're running the producer edition), whereas Sonic Producer has many more hip-hop and rap beats, loops, and samples.

Another thing to be on the lookout for is what kinds of file formats you can export your online rap beats to. For example, it is very important for me to be able to export my rap beats as mp3s because I enjoy being able to burn them onto CDs to show my friends. One program I used in the past which I won't mention didn't have mp3 support, and I didn't find that out until after I had paid for a membership to the site. Needless to say, I'm not a member there anymore.

Speaking of paid memberships, that's another thing to look for. What I've found is that if you have to pay a small free for membership to use rap beat making software, they usually include enough quality extras to make it worth your money. For example, if you join the Sonic Producer website, the membership is only but they really make it worth your while. They give you a huge library of free beats, loops, and samples, give you instrument support, 8 dj pads etc. They also let you export to mp3, which as I said earlier is very important to me. My personal favorite part about the membership is the video tutorials. If the online rap beat maker you're using doesn't have free video tutorials, then you should probably reconsider where you spend your money.

How to Make Hip Hop Beats Instantly

Author: dale rogers

You could have the most sophisticated recording studio in the world at your fingertips but if you don't have the inspiration to make great music then it's all worthless. The real musicians and beat-makers that have the spark and creativity to move people have something that they tap into that sets them apart from the rest.

I'm going to show you how easy it is to make hip hop beats instantly using something you already have right now. Worry about the drum machines, beat-making programs and synthesizers in a minute, but for now just hear me out.

Hip hop and rap music are deeply rhythm based music styles. All of the great hip hop and rap songs are driven by the beat. The drum beat is absolutely the most important part of the hip hop song. If the beats are good enough they will tap into that invisible, powerful thing that makes everyone who hears them start to do the same thing - MOVE! If you can't help but at least bob your head, clap your hands or move around a little when you hear a song you know you've got a great beat to work with. That's my standard to make great hip hop beats to. It must move people.

Need proof of this? Try putting on a great song at a party full of people having fun — they will all react. Everybody will scream out, sing along and dance instantly. But if you put on some dry song with uninspiring, limp beats, you can literally watch the energy evaporate from the room. Bummer dude. Your song sucks.

So how do you make a great hip hop beat instantly? It's even easier than trying to come up with an amazing rhythm idea out of thin air. Here's how you do it: you have to stand up, imagine yourself at a party or crowded club, and start dancing FIRST. It will only take about one or two seconds of moving your body before your brain starts to create something for your hips to react to. It's almost impossible to dance to absolutely no music at all without instantly hearing something great in your head that your body really wants to dance to. Try it and you'll see that it's true. But don't be lazy about it - you really have to move and get into it.

To make it even easier, stand up, start moving and dancing a little and sing the beats and melody out loud while you get into it. You might feel stupid at first but who cares? I'd much rather be a great musician who does a corny warm up than a really cool tough guy who makes crappy, boring beats that nobody wants to dance to.

the reason this works is that your mind and body are connected and what you do with one affects the other. Don't sit in a chair at your computer or drum machine and try make great beats by staring at the buttons and lights, that's not going to get you anywhere. Get your booty up and stroll around the floor like you would at a bangin party and your mind will fill in the music that your body is moving to. THEN go over to the drum machine and bang out the beat — but don't sit down until you're done.

Start Making Your Own Hip Hop Beats By Understanding The Drum Set

Author: dale rogers

So if you're ready to start making your own hip-hop beats there are a few things you should know to begin. The first thing you need to know is the different parts of a drum set that a drum machine mimics. You can then utilize your basic, inborn skill of knowing how to count and being able to listen to make your own beats

The sounds that you input on a drum machine are basically the same sounds that acoustic drums set produces. To simplify it, there are basically three main sounds to be concerned with to start. The snare, the bass, and the high hat sounds are usually the most prominent.

The bass drum sound I'm sure everyone here is familiar with. It's a deep, booming sound that most hip-hop songs incorporate. It's the low sound that rattle speakers and windows. This is the large drum on a drum set that sits on the ground facing out toward the audience and is played with a foot pedal.

The snare sounds like a slap or smack. The snare can go in many different places depending on how funky you're beat is or what your time signature is. In a basic, simple beat the snare typically counts out a steady, prominent repeating pattern that hardly changes. The snare drum is usually payed with the drummers left hand, and this drum sits on a stand right behind the bass drum, between the drummers knees.

The hi hat sounds are the crisp, short, high sounds that count out the  faster quarter, eighth, or sixteenth notes that tick like a slow or fast moving clock. This is another speed of counting the beat, and the high hats
can add a lot of bounce and syncopation to your beat if used creatively. The high hats on a drum set are set of two small cymbals, typically located on a vertical stand to the drummers left and played with the right hand.

Now that you're familiar with the different drum sounds all you have to do is listen and count where you want them to be in your drum machine or beat making software pattern. Plug the beats in and listen to see if that's where you wanted it to go.  It's really not that difficult. If you make a mistake or doesn't sound right, just undo it and put the note in the beat that sounds correct to you. This is where your skills of counting, measuring, and listening to what you have programmed come in.
