Which Of The Best Music Writing Software Choices Are Ideal For You?

Author: David Maroul

The ideal music writing software for you will be dependent on two basic things.

1.Your Goals
2.Your Budget

The 1st question you should ask yourself is:

What are my musical desires?

What is it that I want to create?

Will you be using the program to primarily make beats?
For this, almost any program that has a drum machine will be ok.

Will you be producing or composing music and beats?

This will also hinge on if you are a traditional musician (play an instrument), or if you want to "trigger/ sequence" prerecorded samples, sounds, or notes where no traditional musical instrument skills are compulsory; or both. Various tools and virtual instruments are contained in the individual sequencing software packages available.

If you are a traditional music composer/ performer you will need other outboard electronics.

At the very least, you will need a keyboard which you will use to connect via USB to your computer/ sequencing software. Though you will be able to document a performance by physically playing the keyboard (rather than programming the music with your computer's mouse), you will still be using the "sounds" already sampled and held in the software or produced synthetically with the software's synthesizer.

For live performances and recording traditional instruments (not sampled or prerecorded) it will be a requirement to have some sort of analog-to-digital communication device (a basic set up would be to immortalize a performance using a microphone plugged direct to your computer through your computer's mic jack) and a Digital Audio Workstation (recording, editing and arranging software)

note* you are advised to inquire into the various options available. Some beat / music sequencing programs and audio workstations are designed to work together seamlessly, if not, you will spend a lot of time transferring data from one program to the other.

Will you be using the program to "create" a tune, beat, or groove from scratch?

Or, you instictively know what you want already, you can hear it in your mind, and you just need to produce the track digitally so others can hear it too?

Independent music software programs lend themselves to various styles. Search out the appropriate music/ recording/ sequencing/ beat making/ software forums to find out what other users say about why they like a certain program and what technique they use it to create.

The second question you should ask yourself is:

What is my Budget?

How much can I afford to spend?

This will also be dependent on the resources you already possess. Such as, is your computer new enough to support the demands of the software and is the software compatible with your operating system? Will you need to purchase more items to use in conjunction with the software? Etc.

There are fantastic programs fully compatible with all computers available for as little as .95 and there are more extravagant programs that cost a lot more and have more demanding computing requirements.

My view is; if you're new to music creating programs and are just getting started as a producer, then begin with the most user friendly and least costly program you can find that still fulfills your basic requirements.

You will find that all the quality programs have basically the same design, layout, and user functionality despite the cost.

So starting with a cheaper more basic program - will not only be favorable to your pocketbook - but will also allow you to improve your knowledge base and production skills to determine your future plans and purchases without being a barrier to your ability to move on to more seemingly convoluted programs in the future.

The best music making software is the program that fulfills your demands as a beat maker, producer, composer, or musical artist, and is one that you can easily afford. With these tips and a bit of homework you can find the one that is desirable for you.

Make Your Own Rap Beats with DubTurbo Beat Making Programs

Author: Jason Raulerson

Are you reading this because you're interested in learning how to make rap or hip hop beats using beat making programs? Today's technology has simplified the process and you can start making your own beats within minutes with the right beat making programs. In fact, most beat making programs have evolved and is not only affordable, it can also produce high quality sounds that you'll love.

The first step to making your own beats is to identify a program that fits what you're looking for and purchasing it. I am a beginner so I looked for a simple and inexpensive beat making program. I also wanted it to have just about every sound imaginable and be capable of building the sickest hip hop beats.

When I found DubTurbo I knew I couldn't go wrong. The cost just .95 and it includes beat making software, sample packs, drum kits, royalty free beats, training videos plus tons of bonus materials. Best of all, they have a 60 day, no questions asked, refund policy. I decided to dish out the money and give it a try. DubTurbo exceeded my expectations. They should have called it "Beat Making Programs For Dummies." Within a few minutes of playing around with it, I had created my first rap beat. I probably won't win a Grammy but I've started to practice my swagger, just in case. Only kidding. I can tell you however, that I didn't get much sleep for a few days. I was pretty much glued to my computer and amazed by what was included in their beat making software package.

They start you out with thousands of sample sounds so you choose the type of beat you want to make. You can choose from pretty much any type of music genre, including rap, hip hop, R&B, house, techno, trance, bass and anything in between. What this really means to you is that you have the ability to create any type of beat you'd like.

When making your beats you'll want to follow some simple and easy guidelines. The first step is to start creating a baseline beat. The second is to create an audio loop. Last, but not least, is to lay out your drum patterns, add instruments, special effects, etc. It really is that simple. It is so much fun to create a baseline, then watch it change with each new addition. The easy to follow tutorials give you step-by-step instructions. Your imagination and creativity is all you need.

Again, beat making programs have evolved enough over the years that no matter what your budget is, you can afford one. For less than 30 bucks, you can start to make your own rap or hip hop beats. Save your beats on a CD and bring them with you to the next party. So if you are serious about using beat making programs to make your own beats, then you'll really enjoy making your own beats with DubTurbo.

Beat Making Programs - Make ...

Beat Making Programs-Free Tips

Author: Tamara Jones

So let me guess…you are looking for an easy way to learn how to make beats.  Have you considered using beat making programs or are you trying to create them using studio equipment?  Let me provide you with some advice as to why using beat making programs may be the easiest route to go.

The first and obvious reason is that beat making programs is much cheaper than buying the equipment. Most of my producer friends have spent over ,000 and more on music equipment. With some items alone, they have spent over ,000. It costs me less than 30 bucks to buy my software that is now making me thousands of dollars. Guess who is jealous now?

I first started learning how to make beats with the actual equipment the producers used, and I had a hard time. There were so many components they used that I got lost. With the software, you can add equipment to your laptop or computer if you want and it may enhance the software, but that is up to you. I make beats with only the software I have purchased. It already has drum beats and sounds I love that was part of my style.

One minor disadvantage is that literally anyone can use this software.  My 12 year old nephew has managed to make some great beats.  But there are so many components that you can easily be unique and create great sounds.

What I would suggest before you purchase any beat making software, is to research what others say about it. I love the fact that the software I use included video tutorials because I'm more of a hands on type of person. If you would rather read a manual, then make sure the beat making programs includes it.
